About

Miriam is a self taught abstract artist, specialising in fluid painting and geometric forms. Clear contours, defined lines and sharp shapes are some of the elements that describe Miriam’s signature.

"The fluidity of paint fascinates me, my work is an expression of how forms and shapes can be controlled while remaining organic simultaneously.”

Miriam’s compositions exhibit the natural movement of paint, but rather than keeping the surface horizontal she guides the paint (with a little help from gravity) by lifting, tilting and moving the canvas. She is precise with her stencil technique and combines the fluid paint against abstract colour-blocking.

“I’m inspired by the pioneer of paint dripping Jackson Pollock, the colour-field aesthetic of Piet Mondrian, as well as the fantastic quantities of paint poured by Holton Rower on his sculptures.”

An element that distinguishes her work is the finishing layers of epoxy resin. Using premium quality, UV resistant resin, that guarantees long-lasting quality. Each piece is high-gloss sealed and protected, no need for glass when framing.

“While learning and experimenting with mediums, I found the different effects of resin fascinating and discovered its full potential. Using it as a coating enhances the colours and adds overall definition.”

Her process requires preparation, patience and care throughout. The outcome is the expression of concepts, energies and emotions, that are intended to be evoked in the beholder.
